Palermo, the capital town of the island, has lots of them and in a tour of the town can be seen a gigantic part of the old churches ( San Giovanni degli Eremiti, Santa Maria dellAmmiragliato, Chiesa del Gesu and others ), majestic palaces and museums ( Palazzo dei Normanni, Palazzo Chiaramonte and Museo Archeologico Regionale, to enumerate only a couple of of them ) and other interesting traveller attractions like Piazza Pretoria, Orto Botanico or the Capuchin Burial grounds . But the best holiday deals to Sicily are not restricted to Palermo. There are some other respected vacation destinations like Cefalu, Trapani, Taormina, Agrigento, Siracusa and smaller islands Lipari, Stromboli, and Ustica ( this are truly great vacation destinations for scuba diving and other water sports ). Some meters further on, a pair from Holland have reconstructed their own house and visit it every summer.
